As advent calendars start to be ripped open, Christmas decorations go up, and people’s attentions turn to the first Christmas in what feels like a long time that the terrible spectre of Covid-19 hasn’t loomed over us: what better time to reflect on an eventful, scarily warm and often turbulent six months?
